Abstract
Reaction of the potassium salt of N-thiophosphorylthiourea H2NC(S)NHP(S)(OiPr)2 (HL) with Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) cations in aqueous EtOH leads to M(L-S,Sâ²)2 ([ML2]) chelate complexes. It was established that the metal cation of [NiL2] is in a square-planar environment in CH2Cl2, CHCl3 and C6H6, whereas [NiL2] shows features of a tetrahedral complex in acetone, DMSO and DMF. The magnetic and photoluminescent properties of all complexes are also reported.
