Abstract
The bifunctional ligand 3-(1,8-naphthalimido)propanoate (LC2−) reacts with Zn(O2CCH3)2(H2O)2 to form trimetallic Zn3(LC2)6(MeOH)4 that has an uncommon SBU arrangement organized into a supramolecular metal-organic framework by strong π···π stacking of the naphthalimide rings and hydrogen bonding.
