Abstract
The shown complex cation is the first example of a structurally characterized trans-[RuIII(N-N)2Cl2]+ species which has been synthesized by reacting the N-N ligand directly with hydrated RuCl3. The potential of its Ru(II/III) couple is â0.34Â V versus NHE.
