Abstract
The mixed sulfide-thiolate complexes [Pt2(μ-S)(μ-SR)(PPh3)4]+ (R = n-Bu, CH2Ph) are able to act as cationic metalloligands towards Lewis acidic fragments Ph3PAu+ or Râ²Hg+ (Râ²Â = Ph or ferrocenyl, Fc), giving dicationic adducts [Pt2(μ-SR)(μ-SAuPPh3)(PPh3)4]2+ or [Pt2(μ-SR)(μ-SHgRâ²)(PPh3)4]2+. The structure of [Pt2(μ-SCH2Ph)(μ-SHgFc)(PPh3)4]2+ is reported.
