Abstract
Two new photo-luminescent dinuclear cadmium(II) complexes with Schiff base ligands and selenocyanate as co-ligands have been synthesized and characterized. The structures have been confirmed by single crystal X-ray analysis. DFT study was performed to demonstrate that Se coordination to cadmium(II) is energetically favoured over N coordination. Non-covalent interactions were also explored and explained at solid state by theoretical study. Both complexes show fluorescence upon irradiation with visible light.101
