Abstract
Copper(I) catalyzed [3+2] cycloaddition reactions between 5-ethynylbipyridine and benzyl azides yielded 1-benzyl-4-(5-bipyridyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazoles (1-3) which readily form coordination complexes (4-6) with Re(CO)3Br. Cycloaddition reactions between ethynylbipyridineRe(CO)3Br and benzyl azide yielded mixtures of 4 and unreacted starting material.
