Abstract
The osmastannol, Os(SnMe2OH)(κ2-S2CNMe2)(CO)(PPh3)2, when treated with tBuLi gives the novel cyclic complex, Os(κ2(Sn,P)-SnMe2C6H4PPh2)(κ2-S2CNMe2)(CO)(PPh3) in which one of the phenyl rings of a triphenylphosphine ligand is “ortho-stannylated”. Replacement of one methyl group on tin by chloride through treatment of Os(κ2(Sn,P)-SnMe2C6H4PPh2)(κ2-S2CNMe2)(CO)(PPh3) with SnMe2Cl2 gives Os(κ2(Sn,P)-SnMeClC6H4PPh2)(κ2-S2CNMe2)(CO)(PPh3) as a mixture of diastereomers and both diastereomers are present in equal amounts in the crystal.
