Abstract
Nucleophilic substitution of the reactive chlorine atoms of mono- and dichlorine-containing clathrochelate precursors with HSCH2CH2SH and (HSCH2CH2)2S afforded the clathrochelates with a sole terminal HS-containing spacer substituent and with two longchain sulfide spacer fragments, respectively. Application of clathrochelate self-assembled monolayer on gold electrode as a redox mediator for the precise and sensitive amperometric determination of hydrogen peroxide is proposed.
