9-Nickelafluorenyllithium (1) reacted with iodine and then with various CpxM complexes (Cpx = Cp, Cp∗, M = Na, Mg, Li) in different solvents. The products (π-allyl complexes), isolated from these reactions, were formed via addition of the biphenyl ligand to the Cp ring originally bonded to the Ni atom. Stereospecifity of the reactions depended on the used solvent. π-Allyl compounds 2, 3 and 4 were characterized by X-ray single crystal analysis.
