Abstract
Two Cd(II)/Zn(II) coordination complexes (1 and 2) based on 3,5-dinitro benzoic acid and pyridine have been synthesized using metal ion as the sole reaction variable. 1 is dinuclear and is a new triclinic (P1¯) polymorph whereas 2 is mononuclear. DFT calculations are used to characterize various non-covalent interactions playing vital roles in crystal packing.98
