Abstract
The reaction of Net4[Ir4(CO)11Br] with aromatic monoamines (N) in the presence of Ag+ salts affords the first example of amino derivatives [Ir4(CO)11(N)]. The molecular structure of [Ir4(CO)11(4-picoline)] shows a terminal arrangement of all ligands on the Ir4 framework. In solution this unbridged structure is in dynamic equilibrium with two other minor forms hawing three edge-bridging CO's on a common basal face and the amine ligand binded in axial or radial position.
