Abstract
The present contribution describes the reaction of 5-formyl-2-furanboronic acid with 2-aminophenol 4,5-(R)substituted in where bicyclic boronates are obtained by mean of a furan ring-opening reaction. Presence of electron donor/acceptor groups affects not only the yield of products but also they have influence on the photophysical properties. Computational NLO properties gave evidence for possible applications as optoelectronic materials.
