Abstract
Silver(I) benzyldiphenylphosphine complexes were synthesised and characterised by means of NMR and FTIR. Also the crystal structure on one of the complexes was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The silver(I) complexes were used in anticancer activity studies using a malignant SNO (oesophageal) cell line. The anticancer studies revealed that the cellular viability decreased significantly after the treatment with the complexes and the morphological studies revealed that the possible mode of cell death could be due to apoptosis.63
