Abstract
Flexibility of acetate coordination is revealed for a series of preorganized dinickel(II) complexes, including distinct tilting and twisting of μ1,3-acetate bridges with respect to the bimetallic core. The strength of antiferromagnetic coupling is discussed in light of these structural variations, and tilting of the acetate C-C bond out of the pyrazolate-dinickel(II) plane is proposed to have a major effect.
