Abstract
Fluorescence emission intensities of positional isomers of N-(methylthiazol-2-yl) nitrobenzamide were reduced by Cu2+, Fe2+ and Fe3+ ions among a series of commonly abundant metal ions. One of the isomer showed an exceptional fluorescence decrease only in the presence of Fe2+ or Fe3+ ions making it distinguishable from other isomers in the series.
