Abstract

•Organotin(IV) carboxylates anticancer activity.•Organotin(IV) carboxylates active against cisplatin-resistive cancer cells.•Organotin(IV) carboxylates more active than the standard anticancer drugs.•Structure–activity relationships.

This article provides a critical review of the anticancer activity of organotin(IV) carboxylates in the last five years. Most of the organotin(IV) carboxylates discussed in this review have greater anticancer activity against different cell lines than do the standard drugs. Moreover, some of these organotin(IV) carboxylates have pronounced anticancer activity even against cisplatin-resistive cancer cells. The review also highlights structure-activity relationships.

Graphical abstractThe anticancer activity of organotin(IV) carboxylates in the last five years are reviewed including organotin(IV) carboxylates with promising anticancer activity against different cell lines. Some of them have shown pronounced activity against cisplatin-resistive cancer cells. The review also highlights structure–activity relationships.Figure optionsDownload full-size imageDownload as PowerPoint slide
