Abstract
The reaction of AgCF3SO3 with 2- or 4-diphenylphosphinobenzoic acid leads, respectively, to a non-emissive cyclic dinuclear or to a luminescent 1D polymer silver(I) compound, with the ligand acting as non-chelating bridge.
