Abstract
A series of water-soluble anticancer platinum(II) complexes with an asymmetric chelating diamine 2-morpholinoethylamine as the carrier ligand and with Clâ or dicarboxylate as the leaving group, have been synthesized and characterized. The complexes with dicarboxylate are quite soluble (>25Â mg/ml) and stable in water. The dichlorocomplex is more active than carboplatin against both the sensitive and resistant cancer cells, and has less cross-resistance with cisplatin.
