Abstract
A novel oxalato-bridged dinuclear copper(II) complex (1) bearing two monothiophene-substituted 1,10-phenanthroline ligands has been described in this paper. The thiophene and the phenanthroline rings within each ligand adopt a cis configuration but the two thiophene rings of each cis-ligand lie in a trans position relative to the oxalato-bridged dinuclear Cu(II) unit.
