Abstract
Titanium(II) solutions readily reduce chelated complexes of Ag(III), Ni(IV), and Cu(III) and the nonchelated oxidants VO2+, UO2+, and MnO4-. Reductions of the chelates, but not the nonchelates, are strongly catalyzed by added Ti(IV). Reductions of these oxidants by Ti(III) are slower and not catalyzed by Ti(IV).
