Abstract
A hybrid coordination complex, [(H5O2)(H2bpy)(bpy)4][NaMo8O26] · 2H2O (bpy = 4,4-bipyridine), has been synthesized and structurally characterized. The structure consists of two moieties; one is an infinite chain of Na-β-[Mo8O26] clusters, and the other a two-dimensional network constructed from doubly protonated bpy ions and its neutral molecules, which are linked with water molecules by hydrogen bonds.
