Abstract
Kinetics of the hydrolysis of BNPP (bis(4-nitrophenyl)phosphate) mediated by Sm(III) mixed ligand complexes of crown ethers and amino acids has been systematically studied at 37.0 °C and I = 0.50 M in NMe4Cl. Potentiometric titrations of these systems under identical conditions allowed us to identify the active coordination compounds towards hydrolysis. The results show that complexes with phosphodiesterolytic activity are the monomeric cationic species, [Sm(OH)(cw)(Haa)]2+.
