Abstract
The formation of sterically hindered cationic palladium(II)complexes [TrpyPdIIL]+ Xâ by salt metathesis of the respective trifluoroacetates with different salts of weakly coordinating anions Xâ and different C, N and P donor ligands L was investigated. Strongly distorted structures of four coordinate compounds were usually obtained, and a stable five coordinate PdII species was found with LÂ =Â PMe3.
