Reaction of 2,6-dibenzylphenol and 2,6-bis-(2-methoxybenzyl)phenol with potassium hexamethyldisilazide in the presence of 18-crown-6 yielded [K(18-crown-6)(Odbp)] and [K(18-crown-6)(OdbpOMe)], respectively. Both compounds were mononuclear with seven-coordinate potassium and displayed C–H⋯O and C–H⋯π intermolecular hydrogen bonding.
