Abstract
A novel helical copper(II) complex polymer [Cu(L)2(1,10-phen)]n and a distorbed octahedron cadmium(II) complex Cd(L)2(1,10-phen)2 [LÂ =Â benzilic acid: (C6H5)2C(OH)COOH] have been synthesized. The copper(II) polymer is like a 1D infinite nanostructure chain was derived from a hydroxy and a carboxyl groups bridging [(1,10)-phen]CuII units. The rutile framework cadmium(II) complex forms a 1D chain through Ï-Ï stacking interactions between Phens.
