Synthesis and characterization of transition metal complexes bearing tetrafluoro-4-pyridyl substituent on the cyclopentadienyl ring

New metallocene complexes of Ti, Mn, Fe, Co and Ni bearing (tetrafluoro-4-pyridyl)cyclopentadienyl ligand were synthesized from pure salt Na[4-(C5F4N)C5H4]. Structural, spectroscopic and electrochemical data of prepared transition metal compounds proved strong electron-withdrawing effect of tetrafluoro-4-pyridyl substituent.
