Abstract
An oxidation from PtIICl42− to PtIVCl62− in HCl aq. was studied by the in situ XAFS spectroelectrochemical method. This technique allows to monitor progress of the reaction and to identify the electrolyzed species from a structural point of view. The structural information from EXAFS is the additional advantage of this method over other spectroelectrochemical ones.
