Abstract
Synthesis and characterization of the compounds [M(II)(Phtfac)2(NITpPy)2], where MÂ =Â Co(II) and Mn(II), were described. The use of the group Phtfac allows to modulation the acidity of the cobalt ion leading to the coordination of the NITpPy by the nitrogen atom of the pyridine ring. DFT electronic calculations were used to rationalize the observed magnetic behavior of the manganese derivative.
