Abstract
The diphosphine ligand 2,2-bis(diphenylphosphinomethyl)propionic acid, 1, has a carboxylic acid group which can take part in hydrogen bonding or form the carboxylate anion. For example, the cationic complex [Pd(NCMe)2(1)]2+ forms a hydrogen bonded dimer.
