Abstract
Four one-dimensional Ag(I) and Hg(II) complexes of a newly synthesized ligand 1,4-bis(1-benzyl-benzimidazol-2-yl)cyclohexane (N-BBzBimCH) have been reported, in which different counter anions play different roles to sustain the chain structure. Various weak intermolecular interactions such as C-Hâ¯X (X = Cl, Br) contacts, hydrogen bonds, Ï-Ï interactions and C-Hâ¯Ï stacking also play important roles to extend the 1D chain structures into 2D network.
