Abstract
A one pot reaction of Cu(ClO4)2 · 6H2O with bis(3-aminopropyl)methylamine and sodium dicyanamide in aqueous medium yields a dimeric dicyanamide complex of Cu(II), which is characterized by single crystal X-ray structure and variable temperature magnetic study. The dinuclear entities are joined to the adjacent units via the perchlorate anions by H-bonding to form a supramolecular 1D ladder.
