Abstract
► 1,1'-(1,3-propane)bis-(2-methylbenzimidazole) (pbmb) is synthesized. ► Six complexes are obtained based on a flexible pbmb and isomeric benzenedicarboxylates. ► The complexes are structurally characterized through single crystal X-ray diffraction. ► Isomeric benzenedicarboxylates play a crucial role in the construction of coordination complexes.
