Abstract
4-CH3OC6H4Te(CH2)2NH2 · HCl (1), 4-CH3OC6H4Te(Cl2)(CH2)3NH2 · HCl (2), Cl2Te((CH2)2NH2 · HCl)2 (3) and Cl2Te((CH2)3NH2 · HCl)2 (4) have been synthesized by reacting appropriate organic halides with 4-CH3OC6H4Teâ or Te2â followed by reaction with HCl of appropriate concentration The [âCl4Te(CH2)nNH3+] was generated when single crystals of 2 were grown in methanol at 0 °C. The 1-2 and 2a have C-Hâ¯Ï and/or Teâ¯Cl secondary interactions In 3 chain structure results due to hydrogen bonding by water. The geometry of Te in 1 is V shaped and in all other compounds distorted octahedral due to Teâ¯Cl secondary interactions.
