Abstract
Lateral macrobicyclic compartmental mono and binuclear nickel(II) complexes were synthesized. Spectral, electrochemical and kinetic studies of the complexes were carried out. Cyclic voltammetric studies show quasireversible one electron reduction waves both in cathodic and anodic region. The catalytic activities of the complexes towards hydrolysis of 4-nitrophenyl phosphate increase with macrocyclic ring size. Macrocyclic ring size influences the electrochemical and catalytic properties of the complexes.
