Abstract
The chemical reactivity of mononucleobase cations: SP-4-2-[PtCl(9-EtGua)(NH3)(quinoline)]+ and trans-[PtCl(9-EtGua)(pyridine)2]+ with the model compounds 5â²-guanosine monophosphate and N-Acetylmethionine was studied by 1H NMR spectroscopy. Reactivity studies were extended to the biologically relevant protein Ubiquitin. The differences obtained between model and protein substrates are compared and the potential biological implications are discussed.
