Separation of actinides and lanthanides: Synthesis and molecular structure of a new di-μ-phenoxo-bridged dinuclear bis(dioxouranium(VI)) complex

An unusual new dinuclear uranyl complex containing an interesting di-μ-phenoxo-bridged uranium complex is presented. The two uranyl(2+) ions are in a seven-coordination, shaped in a distorted pentagonal bipyramidal geometry with two apical oxo groups and two THF molecules, which are trans in a non-adjacent fashion.
