Abstract
The synthesis, the spectroscopic and structural characterization of the nanosized thiophenolate-capped clusters [Me4N][Et3NH][Zn4(μ-S-C6H4-Cl)6(S-C6H4-Cl)4], [Et3NH]2[Zn4(μ-S-C6H4-Cl)6(S-C6H4-Cl)4], [Me4N]2[Zn4(μ-S-C6H4-Cl)6(S-C6H4-Cl)4], and also the thiophenolate derivative [Et3NH]2[Zn4(μ-S-C6H5)6(S-C6H5)4] are reported and discussed. The cluster are potential building blocks for the development of zinc-based nanocomposite materials.
