Abstract
Bis-chelated arylazoimidazole-ruthenium(II)-cholranilates are described. The complexes are structurally characterized as supramolecular ladder. The MLCT transition is observed in the visible region and red to NIR region shows chloranilato to azoimine charge transferences. Elecrochemistry shows stepwise oxidation of chloranilato and reduction of azoimine functions. Solvatochromic effect is examined. ZINDO calculation is correlated with spectral and electrochemical properties.
