Abstract
- LinFn + 1â (n = 2-5) systems are stable and strongly bound polynuclear superhalogen anions.
- The lowest energy isomers of the LinFn + 1â (n = 2-5) species correspond to compact and high-symmetry structures.
- The excess electron binding energies of the LinFn + 1â (n = 2-5) anions span the 8.5-10.1 eV range.
- Structural growth of the LinFn + 1â anions (by subsequent LiF attachment) is expected to be spontaneous.
