Abstract
•Balz–Schiemann reaction represents the first synthetic approach to fluoropyrazoles.•Synthesis of some fluoropyrazoles was achieved via Selectfluor fluorination.•Cyclocondensation reactions are most widely used for the synthesis of fluoropyrazoles.•Some derivatives of 4-fluoropyrazole have been reported as biologically active compounds.•3-Fluoropyrazolo[1,5-a]- and [3,4-d]pyrimidines are main types of annelated analogs.
In the frames of this review article the recently obtained data on new synthetic approaches to fluorinated pyrazoles and their condensed analogs, as well as their biological activities have been analyzed.
