Abstract
The thermal gas-phase oxidation of CF2CFBr initiated by CF3OF is a chain reaction propagated by bromine atoms as the chain carriers, leading to formation of oxyradicals CF2BrCFBrO. The main reaction product is bromodifluoroacetyl fluoride (yields 81-95% based on CF2CFBr consumed).
