A novel oligomer (F1) based on 2,4-difluorobenzene and trifluorene was prepared and characterized. The experimental results showed that the new trifluorene containing 2,4-difluorobenzene had relative high photoluminescence quantum efficiency, up to 71.6%, compared with 42% of trifluorene (F0), and its maximum absorption and emission spectra took on some abnormal characteristics, which could both be attributed to the unique function of fluorine.
