Abstract
The coordination abilities of fluorosalicylic acids to copper(II), investigated by pH-potentiometry, UV-visible spectrophotometry, and ESR spectroscopy, were influenced significantly by the position of the fluorine atom in the aromatic ring in correlation with their reported biological activities. Quantum chemical calculations gave explanation for this finding.
