âºCadmium strongly inhibits human topoisomerase IIα. âºCadmium may be inhibitory by binding to critical topoisomerase II cysteine thiols. âºCadmium is not a topoisomerase II poison. âºCadmium cytotoxicity is modulated by glutathione levels.
