•Schiff base-metal complexes based on polyacrylamide.•Catalytic activities of polymeric complexes in the decomposition of H2O2.•Effect of structure of polymeric complex on the catalytic activity.
A number of polymeric Schiff base-metal complexes based on crosslinked polyacrylamide resins were synthesized and characterized. The catalytic activity of the polymeric metal complexes was investigated for the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide as a model reaction. The effects of different parameters such as degree of crosslinking, spacer arm, ligand and metal ion on the catalytic activity of the prepared metal complexes were explored. The prepared catalysts could be reused several times without any considerable reduction in their activities.
