Abstract
Low temperature protonation (â80°C) of a Pt-vinyl complex, (Tpâ²)Pt(CHCH2)(Me)2, generated a small amount of an ethylidene Pt complex, [(Tpâ²)Pt(CH(CH3)Me2][B(ArF)4] as monitored by NMR. Warming the reaction to â40°C results in reductive elimination to form a new C-C bond in a Pt(II) propylene adduct, [κ2(Tpâ²(NH))Pt(η2 CH2CHCH3)Me][B(ArF)4].82
