Abstract
We report for the first time the structural characterization of charge-compensated half-chromocenes 5 and 6 containing a cationic quaternary N-H unit. Because the synthesis of the dicarbollyl chromium complexes was unsuccessful with both the deprotonated dicarbollylammine ligand systems, we developed a new strategy involving the transmetallation of a dicarbollyl aluminum complex.152
