Abstract
⺠Nucleophilic attack of an ethynyl-ruthenium complex on a diaryl oxalate gave a dihydrofuran-3,4-dione complex. ⺠The molecular structure was determined from a single-crystal X-ray study. ⺠A plausible mechanism for this transformation is given.
