Abstract

•The generation of 1,2,3-triazole ring provides efficient route as synthetic aspects in click chemistry.•The different exocyclic substituents form an important class of pharmaceutical compounds.•The optimized reaction conditions for silatrane synthesis in high yield and purity have been reported.

A single step reaction for the synthesis of novel 1,2,3-triazole based silatranes (TBS)-scaffolds (2a–2o) using polyfunctionalised organotriethoxysilanes (1a–1l) as precursors is described. The synthesized silatranes are the first compounds of this type and hydrolytically more stable than their open chain analogues. The structures of 2a–2o were characterized by IR, NMR (1H and 13C) and mass spectroscopy studies.
