•Neutral rhenium(I)-based mixed-ligands supramolecular coordination complexes.•Self-assembly of Re(CO)3, anionic flexible donor, and neutral flexible donor.•Bis(salicylaldehyde) as building unit for supramolecular coordination complex.
Neutral heteroleptic M2LL'-type supramolecular co-ordination complexes were synthesized in a one-step process using a tritopic fac-Re(CO)3 acceptor, dianionic flexible bis(chelating) oxygen donors, and neutral flexible bis(monodentate) nitrogen donors. Two flexible ligands and two fac-Re(CO)3 cores make up the cyclic framework. Complexes 1, and 2 were characterized by E.A., IR, UV-Vis spectroscopy and X-ray study.
